Sri Lanka, Feb. 6 -- A fake doctor who was arrested for operating a medical center while pretending to be a licensed practitioner has been sentenced to a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty.

Panadura Magistrate Lahiru N. Silva sentenced the man to six months of rigorous imprisonment, suspended for five years, after he admitted to the offense.

The 30-year-old man, who ran the medical center in the Sarikkamulla - Panadura Samagi Mawatha area, had a stock of medicines and equipment worth millions of rupees seized by the police during his arrest.
