Sri Lanka, Aug. 30 -- The five suspects arrested in Indonesia, including organised crime leader Kehelbaddara Padme, were brought back to the country a short while ago.
Padme, along with 'Commando Salintha' alias Pittuwa, and three others, who are all wanted for organised crime and drug trafficking, were arrested on August 27 in Jakarta.
Their capture was the result of a joint operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Police, Jakarta Police, and Interpol.
The operation was led by Assistant Superintendents of Police Rohan Olugala and Mahinda Jayasundara from the Criminal Investigation Department.
Due to the small size of the team, a second special CID unit was dispatched to Indonesia this morning to facilitate the suspects' extradition.
