Sri Lanka, July 19 -- An Excise officer and a businessman have been arrested following a heated argument that escalated into a gun incident outside a sports club in Thalawathugoda early today (19).

According to reports, the businessman pointed his licensed revolver at the Excise officer during the altercation.

The Excise officer then allegedly disarmed him and fired four rounds into a nearby wall. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

Thalangama Police were informed and arrived at the scene, taking the revolver, along with the ammunition, and arresting both suspects.

Thalangama Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
