Sri Lanka, July 5 -- The Excise Department has generated a revenue of Rs.120.5 billion within the first six months of this year.

This represents a 102.6% achievement, surpassing the target set by the Ministry of Finance.

The Excise Department stated that in the past year, it collected Rs.226.7 billion for the government.

In 2023, the department earned Rs.178.6 billion and in 2022, its revenue was Rs.170.3 billion.
