Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- The Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development took steps to establish an advisory council dedicated to the advancement of the event management sector.

Minister Sunil Handunnetti presided over the official appointment ceremony held in Colombo today.

According to the Ministry of Industry, this sector has operated for over 20 years and contributed significantly to the economy last year, generating a value of Rs. 60 billion.

The industry currently supports 30,000 direct employment opportunities, and the new council aims to further formalise and grow these contributions.
