After being put in to bat, England reached 171 for 9, recovering from a middle-order collapse triggered by Varun Chakravarthy's exceptional 5 for 24. Ben Duckett top-scored with 51, while Liam Livingstone's explosive 43 off 24 balls helped push the total beyond 170. Rashid and Mark Wood's last-wicket stand of 24 proved vital.
