Sri Lanka, May 3 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has stated that the government is likely to increase electricity tariffs immediately after the local government elections, based on recommendations from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

He made these remarks while addressing a public gathering of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya in Galigamuwa, aimed at the upcoming local government elections.
