Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- Power and Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody announced that electricity has been fully restored across the country following a nationwide power outage that occurred at around 11:15 a.m. today (09).

The minister attributed the outage to a monkey crashing into the system at the Panadura Grid Substation. The sudden disruption also affected railway crossing signaling systems.

The Ministry of Energy stated that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted into the incident.
