Sri Lanka, Jan. 20 -- Egg prices in the local market are experiencing a rapid decline, with a medium-sized egg now selling for approximately Rs. 30.

According to the All Island Egg Merchants' Association, this price drop follows a significant increase in domestic egg production.

The Secretary of the association, Anurasiri Marasinghe, noted that the surplus in supply is the primary driver behind the current market rates.
