Sri Lanka, July 7 -- Former Minister Duminda Dissanayake has been further remanded until July 15 in connection with the discovery of a gold-plated T56 firearm from an apartment complex.

He was produced before Mount Lavinia Magistrate Chathurika de Silva today (7).

In addition to the former minister, the two female suspects arrested in connection with the incident were also remanded until July 15 by order of the Magistrate, according to Hiru court correspondent.

Former Minister Duminda Dissanayake was initially arrested on May 23 as part of the ongoing investigation into the gold-plated T56 rifle, which was found in the possession of a woman at a housing complex in Wellawatte.
