Sri Lanka, Feb. 15 -- The driver involved in the accident involving National People's Power (NPP) Puttalam District MP Mohamed Faisal's vehicle, which resulted in the death of a motorcyclist, is set to be produced before the Marawila Magistrate today.
According to the police, the suspect driver, identified as the MP's cousin, was sent for a medical examination yesterday. Following statements recorded on the incident, MP Faisal was released.
The accident occurred in the Wennappuwa-Koswatta-Haldaduwana area while the MP was traveling to attend a special parliamentary session. The collision led to the death of a 65-year-old father of one from Pathahawatta, Wennappuwa.
