Sri Lanka, Aug. 15 -- The driver of the getaway car used in the murder of Homagama Local government member Shantha Mudunkotuwa, also known as "Bana," has confessed to the police that a person known as "Bus Laliya" offered him Rs. 300,000 for the killing.

The suspect revealed to police the detailed plan given to him by "Bus Laliya."

According to the confession, Mudunkotuwa was to be lured to a location under the pretence that interlocking stones were being delivered for a restaurant he was building.

The suspect was instructed to call Mudunkotuwa, ask for directions, and then murder him.

The driver also said that "Bus Laliya" first provided a different car, which he used for drug trafficking, but it had a mechanical fault.
