Srilanka, May 20 -- Two prison officers and a prison bus driver attached to the Angunukolapelessa Prison have been interdicted, according to Prison Media Spokesperson Gamini B. Dissanayake.
This action was taken as part of an initial investigation into an incident involving a prison bus, an inmate, and the inmate's family.
The incident reportedly occurred on May 16. A prison bus, transporting an inmate, was allegedly stopped at an unauthorised location outside Weligama town.
The prison officers providing security then reportedly left the inmate in the bus and went to shops in Weligama to purchase items.
