Sri Lanka, May 31 -- A man was killed after being struck with a pole by his brother-in-law in the Uva Kuda Oya area of Wellawaya, while allegedly attempting to assault his own mother with a sharp weapon.

Police have arrested the individual who delivered the fatal blow.

The suspect was produced before the Wellawaya Magistrate and remanded until the 3rd of next month.
