Srilanka, Dec. 26 -- A tragic incident occurred yesterday (25) as a 49-year-old doctor passed away after drowning in Mirissa.

The deceased has been identified as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Walana District Hospital in Weligama.

The doctor had reportedly assumed his duties at the Walana Hospital just one month ago.
