Sri Lanka, May 17 -- Commuters across Sri Lanka are experiencing significant disruptions to train services today as a token strike by the Railway Station Masters' Union continues.

The industrial action, which commenced at midnight yesterday, has led to the temporary suspension of all long-distance train operations, according to the Railway Control Room.

While long-distance travel remains heavily affected, authorities have managed to schedule a limited number of trains for operation this morning in key areas.

On the main line, commuters can expect one train each from Polgahawela and Meerigama.
