Sri Lanka, May 10 -- A new circular from the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has increased the maximum disaster loan limit for public sector employees from Rs. 250,000 to Rs. 400,000.

The circular, effective from the 1st of May 2025, has been issued to Secretaries of Ministries, Provincial Chief Secretaries, and Heads of Departments.

The revision comes in line with the increase in the minimum basic salary of public servants as proposed in the 2025 budget.
