Srilanka, Dec. 8 -- The number of deaths caused by cyclone Ditwah rose to 635.

The Disaster Management Center states that the largest number of people who passed away in this disaster (234) were from the Kandy District.

The Disaster Management Center also states that 69,861 individuals belonging to 22,218 families are being sheltered in 690 safe centers across the island.
