Sri Lanka, July 8 -- The Ministry of Digital Economy has issued a clarification regarding reports on the procurement of power distribution units for computers and equipment systems in Divisional Secretariats under the Digital Identity Card (e-NIC) project.

In a statement, the Ministry refuted reports alleging that undue advantages were given to businesses with political affiliations under this procurement.

The Ministry's statement clarified that the tender documents for this procurement were prepared based on the recommendations of a technical evaluation committee.

This committee comprised experts in power supply and IT equipment networking, representing the University of Moratuwa and the ICTA.
