Sri Lanka, March 21 -- The writ petition filed by former Colombo Crimes Division OIC Anslam de Silva and six other suspects linked to the 2023 Weligama hotel shooting is scheduled to be heard at the Court of Appeal today.

The Attorney General previously instructed the CID not to arrest the suspects until preliminary investigations are completed and to record their statements upon their appearance. Meanwhile, one of the suspects has reportedly left the country.

Former IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon, who is in remand custody, was transferred to Dumbara Prison last night after initially being detained at Angunukolapelessa Prison. He was remanded until April 3 after being produced before Matara Magistrate Aruna Buddhadasa.
