Sri Lanka, June 14 -- Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni, the Deputy Minister of Health and Mass Media, has issued a special statement addressing recent reports regarding a medicine shortage in the country.

Dr. Wijemuni stated that there is no shortage of medicines for common conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes.

He clarified that only "certain breakdowns" exist for a "few types of medicines," and necessary remedies are already in place to address these.

The Deputy Minister expressed confidence that these shortages will be fully resolved by approximately 2026.
