Sri Lanka, July 21 -- Deputy Chief Prelate of the Asgiriya Chapter of the Siam Sect, Most Venerable Sri Anamaduwe Dhammadassi Thera, has passed away at the age of 67.

He was admitted to a private hospital in Kandy, due to an illness, and he passed away while hospitalised.

Born in 1958, Venerable Dhammadassi Thera was 67 years old at the time of his demise.

He also served as the Chief Incumbent of the Athkanda Raja Maha Viharaya in Kurunegala and was a Senior Lecturer at the Anuradhapura Bhikku University.
