Sri Lanka, April 30 -- Deflation continued for the 8th consecutive month, even as inflation saw a slight uptick in March.
According to the Department of Census and Statistics, the overall rate of inflation, as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index on a Year-on-Year basis, increased to (-2)% in April 2025, compared to (-2.6)% in March 2025.
Food inflation increased to 1.3% in April 2025 from 0.06% in March 2026.
Year-on-Year inflation of the non-food group increased to (-3.6)% in April 2025 from (-4.1)% in March 2025.
