Srilanka, Nov. 25 -- The Deduru Oya reservoir has had six sluice gates opened by four feet each due to the ongoing heavy rainfall.
The Regional Irrigation Engineer's Office reported that this measure is releasing 16,000 cubic feet of water per second into the Deduru Oya river.
Furthermore, two sluice gates at the Kala Wewa reservoir were opened by one foot each yesterday afternoon (24). This followed an inflow of approximately 3,728 cubic feet of water per second into the reservoir.
Engineers in charge of the Kala Wewa reservoir stated that this release is currently discharging 1,021 cubic feet of water per second into the Kala Oya river.
