Sri Lanka, July 11 -- Sri Lanka's state-owned oil giant, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO), is implementing significant reforms to its employee recruitment process for the first time in 35 years. The move aims to address long-standing concerns regarding irregularities within the system.

Speaking to local media, Dr. Mayura Nettikumara, the Managing Director of CEYPETCO, stated that a key part of these reforms involves a substantial reduction in the workforce.

Dr. Nettikumara confirmed that approximately 3,000 employees recruited since 2012 will see their positions reviewed, with the workforce to be trimmed down to around 2,031 "essential employees."
