Sri Lanka, March 20 -- The Colombo High Court has rejected a request by former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella's attorneys to lift the freeze on his parliamentary branch bank account, linked to an investigation by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The decision was delivered by Colombo High Court Judge Adithya Patabendi.
Earlier, the court suspended several bank accounts and insurance agreements belonging to Rambukwella and his family as part of the investigation.
The frozen account contained his pension and over Rs. 95.9 million in compensation for fire damage to his residence.
