Sri Lanka, May 12 -- The Acting Magistrate of Dehiattakandiya has ordered the police and the Air Force to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the recent Bell 212 helicopter crash in the Maduru Oya reservoir and to submit a report on the cause of the accident and the progress of the investigations to the court.

This order was issued after the police presented the facts regarding the incident to the court.

The Air Force helicopter, belonging to the No. 7 Helicopter Squadron at Hingurakgoda Air Force Base, crashed into the reservoir while engaged in a practice flight, resulting in the deaths of two air gunners and four Army Special Forces soldiers.
