Sri Lanka, June 18 -- The Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today (18) ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to conduct an investigation and report to the court regarding allegations of false and malicious information being spread online to incite public anger against President Anura Kumara Dissanayake during his recent visit to Germany.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali issued this order after considering a report submitted by the CID concerning the incident.
The investigation commenced following a complaint lodged with the CID by G. Subhash Chaminda Roshan, an Additional Secretary to the President's Office.
