Sri Lanka, April 21 -- The Court of Appeal is set to deliver its decision today regarding the conduct of elections in approximately 10 local government bodies where nomination papers were initially rejected.
This follows a series of petitions filed by political parties and independent groups, who sought the re-acceptance of those nomination papers.
The issue arose after several political entities challenged the rejection of their nominations, prompting the Court of Appeal to intervene.
Subsequently, the court directed Returning Officers in several districts to accept the nominations.
