Sri Lanka, March 3 -- The Court of Appeal has set a date for hearing the writ petition filed by the Gampola Divisional Secretary, seeking an order to prevent interference in the construction of the country's first cable car project in the Ambuluwawa area.
The petition was taken up before the Court of Appeal's bench, consisting of Justice Mohamed Lafar Tahir and Sarath Dissanayake, on March 3. The bench has ordered that the petition be heard on June 12.
The petition was filed by a private company from Rajagiriya, which is implementing the project. The company claims that the Gampola Divisional Secretary is obstructing the construction despite necessary approvals from all relevant government institutions.
