Sri Lanka, July 18 -- The Court of Appeal has reserved its order on the petition seeking the removal of Police Special Task Force (STF) officers from the Boossa Prison, for September 1.
The petition was filed by Ruwan Kumara, alias 'Midigama Ruwan', who is allegedly a powerful underworld leader, and is currently incarcerated.
The petition was considered yesterday (17) before a bench comprising Judges Rohantha Abeysuriya and Court of Appeal President Priyantha Fernando.
The petitioner's lawyer, presenting arguments before the court, alleged that the Boossa Prison is a high-security facility, but STF officers have been deployed for both its internal and external security
