Sri Lanka, Feb. 21 -- Fort Magistrate has granted permission to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to present video evidence in the case against former IGP Pujith Jayasundara. The case involves allegations of criminal coercion and criminal intimidation against a police officer near the elevator on April 11, 2017.
Despite the prosecution not yet providing the video evidence, the magistrate stated that the presiding magistrate, Tanuja Lakmali, had issued a six-page order dismissing the defendant's objection to its use.
Accordingly, the CID has been allowed to call witnesses in the case. Former IGP Pujith Jayasundara was present in court when the case was heard.
