Sri Lanka, May 13 -- Police have arrested a married couple involved in a series of thefts targeting temples in several areas, including Kalutara and Panadura.
The couple who reside in Ratmalana were apprehended in the Panadura area.
Authorities have recovered three temple bells, four golden fences, six lamps, and a collection of other valuable antique items believed to have been stolen by the pair.
Investigations reveal that the couple allegedly carried out the thefts under the guise of visiting the temples for worship.
