Sri Lanka, Sept. 11 -- A request for a formal inquiry has been made into the sudden death of a 24-year-old mother at Monaragala District General Hospital.

The patient, P. Shyamali Madhushani, from Siri Wijayapura, Monaragala, was admitted on Sunday (08), for surgery following a toothache.

She passed away in Ward Six on Sunday (08) afternoon. According to hospital sources, the patient developed complications, and a post-mortem examination showed she had been suffering from an infection.

However, her husband, E. K. Nuwan Lakmina, has expressed suspicion over the circumstances of her death.
