Sri Lanka, Feb. 13 -- The Passenger Rights Protection Group claims that frequent road accidents are occurring due to bus drivers using drugs while driving.

Speaking at a press conference, they alleged that bus owners provide drugs to drivers to combat fatigue, leading to reckless driving and fatal accidents.

In the past week alone, several deadly road accidents were reported across the country. The most recent occurred in Kurunegala on the 10th, where a private bus collided with another parked at a bus stop, leaving four dead and 28 injured.

The group organized the press conference to highlight ongoing road accidents and advocate for passenger rights.
