Sri Lanka, March 25 -- A complaint was filed with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption requesting an immediate investigation into the Trincomalee pilot vessel incident, which allegedly caused a loss of over Rs. 260 million.
The complaint was filed by Sanjaya Mahawatte, convener of the 'Civil Intelligence Front', marking the second time such a complaint has been made. The first complaint, filed on January 6 this year under the number AC/220/2025, has reportedly seen no action.
The incident involved a modern high-tech pilot vessel, received with Japanese assistance for Trincomalee port operations, which was damaged during a private trip. As a result, the Port Authority has been forced to use 'elephant boats' ...
