Srilanka, Dec. 1 -- Instructions were given to District Secretaries regarding existing issues to accelerate disaster relief services, stated Commissioner General of Essential Services Prabath Chandrakeerthi.
Issuing a statement, the Commissioner General said that all Provincial Chief Secretaries were informed to estimate the damage to infrastructure in the relevant provinces and inform him promptly, and to take immediate necessary action regarding food and other essential services.
Furthermore, a gas tanker carrying 3,955 metric tons of gas could not be unloaded at the Colombo Port today (01).
Therefore, approval was granted to unload the vessel at the Hambantota Port.
