Sri Lanka, Feb. 17 -- The Commercial High Court of the Western Province (Exercising Civil Jurisdiction), seated in Colombo, has granted an enjoining order and interim injunction in Case No. CHC 08/2026/IP, concerning a trademark infringement dispute relating to the brand name "Garsy."

The plaintiff, the registered owner of the trademark "Garsy," has been using the brand name in relation to its products since 2024. The plaintiff informed the Court that the defendant had begun marketing similar products under the brand name "Garcy," which is phonetically similar to the plaintiff's registered trademark.
