Sri Lanka, May 27 -- Sri Lanka stocks were up today (27) with the All-Share Price Index rising by 161.39 points, to end the day at 16,657.63 points.
The S&P SL20 index also rose by 70.13 points, to end the day at 4,909.07 points.
The market turnover is 18 billion rupees, with 110 companies contributing positively to the ASPI, while 96 companies saw declines.
The high market turnover was mainly due to the transaction of Browns Investment, where it sold its entire 9.99% stake in Hatton National Bank, offloading 45.3 million shares at Rs.305 each, in an Rs.13.82 billion deal.
Among the top positive contributors, Hatton National Bank recorded a turnover of Rs.14 billion from 47 million shares traded.
