Sri Lanka, March 6 -- The All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) closed at 16,123.10 today (6), marking a decline of 43.43 points (0.27%) amid market volatility. Price losses in counters such as Ceylon Tobacco Company, Melstacorp, and Hatton National Bank contributed to the downturn, while the S&P SL20 also edged lower.

Turnover stood at Rs. 2.3 billion, falling from yesterday's Rs. 5.2 billion and below the monthly average of Rs. 3.4 billion. The Capital Goods sector led turnover contributions with 41%, followed by the Banking sector and Food, Beverage & Tobacco with a combined 35%.
