Sri Lanka, Aug. 1 -- Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayatunga today (1) ordered the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) to obtain a report from the Government Analyst to identify who converted a stock of seized foreign liquor bottles into what was later found to be just stagnant water and tea infusion.

The Chief Magistrate instructed that 81 foreign liquor bottles and 150 beer bottles, which were being stored in the court's case room, be sent to the Government Analyst for examination.

The investigation was initiated after Colombo Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasena, who had initially ordered the destruction of the seized liquor stock on February 17, noticed during the process that the contents of the bottles were not genuine liquo...
