Sri Lanka, Jan. 11 -- A lawyer in Colombo was arrested yesterday (10) along with four others during a police raid at a hotel in Mirissa.

The Weligama Police conducted the operation following a tip-off that a group was in possession of illicit substances while staying at the coastal resort.

According to police reports, the 51-year-old lawyer, a resident of Kurunegala, had traveled to Mirissa with four friends for a holiday. During a search of their hotel room, officers recovered 860mg of cocaine in the lawyer's possession.

All five suspects were taken into custody and are scheduled to be produced before the Galle Magistrate's Court today (11).
