Sri Lanka, March 27 -- Colombo High Court judge Manjula Thilakaratne has recused himself from the money laundering case against SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa related to the controversial 'Krrish' project.

The judge announced the decision in open court, citing two social media posts made against him by Sanath Balasooriya and Poddala Jayantha.

The case will now be referred to Colombo Chief High Court judge Adithya Patabendige to assign a new judge for further proceedings.

The indictments against Namal Rajapaksa regarding the 'Krrish' project were recently handed over to Judge Thilakaratne.
