Sri Lanka, June 7 -- Train services on the coastal line are now operating as normal, according to Dhammika Jayasundara, the General Manager of Railways.

He made this statement to Hiru News, addressing the recent near-collision where two trains almost met on the same track due to a signal problem.

Yesterday (6), it was decided that trains would operate on only a single track between Panadura and Moratuwa until the signal issues were resolved.

However, the General Manager stated that relevant departments have now confirmed the coastal line's signal system is functioning appropriately.
