Sri Lanka, June 12 -- Several teams from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have been deployed to inspect prison records across the island.

The inspection focuses on all documents related to the release of prisoners under presidential pardons, general amnesties, and the cases of inmates who have not yet been released.

Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijeyapala stated that the CID has deployed several special teams to carry out this investigation.
