Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has informed the Court of Appeal that a decision to arrest former Minister Udaya Gammanpila has not been made at this time.
The CID's statement was made today (12) when a writ application filed by Gammanpila was taken up for hearing.
In his petition, he sought an order to prevent his arrest under the United Nations Convention on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) Act.
Representing the CID, Deputy Solicitor General Sudharshana de Silva told the court that the investigations are still ongoing, and a final decision will be made after their conclusion.
The hearing has been postponed until October 17.
