Sri Lanka, April 3 -- The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has identified 22 former ministers and members of parliament as beneficiaries of funds from the President's Fund between 2008 and 2024, as part of its ongoing investigations.

Sri Lanka Police stated that the CID will seek an order from the Fort Magistrate's Court to obtain cheque details related to these transactions. The Financial and Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the CID is leading the probe into potential irregularities in the disbursement of these funds.
