Sri Lanka, Sept. 4 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has dismantled an illicit methamphetamine, or 'ice', production facility in Nuwara Eliya.

The operation was allegedly run by the notorious organised crime figure, Mandinu Padmasiri, also known as Kehelbaddara Padme.

The discovery was made during the ongoing interrogation of Kehelbaddara Padme, who is currently in police custody.

The suspect reportedly admitted to investing over Rs. 4 million into the drug operation. He also revealed that he had rented a house in Nuwara Eliya specifically for this purpose.
