Sri Lanka, Feb. 12 -- A Chinese national who worked as an engineer for the Lotus Tower project has been arrested for illegally distilling alcohol.

Police seized 318,000 milliliters of Goda, 67,500 milliliters of illicit alcohol, and a stock of equipment used for production at a house in Bundiyawatte following a tip-off received by the Wellampitiya Police.

The raid was carried out with the assistance of the Police Special Task Force. The suspect was produced before the Aluthkade Number 2 Court today (12), and further investigations are underway.
