Sri Lanka, Jan. 23 -- China will donate 100 luxury electric buses to Sri Lanka to reduce environmental pollution caused by fossil fuel consumption. Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong shared this update during a visit to the Chief Prelates of the Malwatte and Asgiriya Chapters in Kandy yesterday.
The Ambassador noted that each bus carries a value of 225,000 USD, and the fleet is intended for operation in Kandy, Galle, and Colombo. During his discussions with Most Venerable Tibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thero and Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero, the envoy emphasized China's commitment to increasing electric vehicle adoption in Sri Lanka.
